The answer is yes. So you can buy a SIM card in Hawaii through T-mobile or At&T. There are convenience stores which you could purchase a SIM card from as well. They are in expensive, but to save you the time, you could get your roaming SIM Card ahead of time and once you land at your destination, simply insert the SIM in your unlocked phone and you are good to go. And I will show you which cards are ideal for your trip in Hawaii.
