How Does SpeedTalk Work?
Before I explain in full detail what the $5 SIM Card Preloaded is, I just want to first share with you that the $5 SIM Card is by SpeedTalk. Having said that SpeedTalk, offers its services through subscription plans, which means the card will auto renew every 30 days.
Having said that, once you activate your card, the service will start. You’ll be charged the rate stated at the time of purchase, every month, until you cancel. Once you are done from using the card, you have to contact support to cancel your account.
In the case if you go over the applicable plan, you will need to cover the overages costs. This is why you should purchase the plan that meets your needs. And there are different plans based on different needs which you can choose from. For instance, there’s the $5 SIM card and the $10 SIM card and etc.
What Is the $5 SIM Card Preloaded with 1st Month Service No Contract ?
The $5 SIM card has a plan which includes a total of 250 units. You can use each unit in any combination of talk, text, or even data. Having said that, you can use the 25 units as 250 mins or 250 text or 250 MB (2G, 3G, 4G) for 30 days.
With this in mind, I personally use it for voice to contact my family back home (In Canada), to let them know I am doing good. Some people may use it for data or even all 3 combinations.
In essence, this $5 SIM card is a triple cut SIM card, and will fit any device. It can be used as a standard-sized SIM, a Micro-sized SIM or even a Nano-sized SIM card.
Not to mention, you could use your existing phone number or you can get a new number. I personally use a new number (US number) which they assign to me when registering the card online.
What You’ll Love about the $5 SIM Card?

- No activation fee. The activation code is already included. But you do need a credit card to activate the card.

- It comes with easy to follow instructions. You can activate the card online or you can call customer service to activate it.
- Inexpensive. It’s a great card and you get so much for such a little price.
- I personally loved the fact, you can keep your existing phone number. But if you wish to acquire a new number, you can at no extra charge. If you wish to keep your current number, you need to contact your current cell phone provider.
What I dislike About the $5 SIM Card?
- The only concern I have is I wish I can use it outside of the USA.
Who Is This $5 SIM Card For?
Anyone traveling to the USA, and needs to use their phone while in the USA. This is great if you plan to stay for 5 days, 10 days, or even a month. However, as mentioned earlier, depending on your stay in the USA, you can use a plan that better meets your needs.
Not to mention, you can use this card on any T-Mobile phone, AT&T unlocked phone, Apple iPhone, Android, Windows, Smart Watches, GPS Trackers, Car Alarm Systems, Kid GPS Trackers, and Pet Trackers, or other compatible tablets.
In essence, you can check the coverage at STKMap for coverage information before you make your purchase. You will be able to know the type of coverage you have based on the destination you plan to stay in.
My Recommendation
The $5 SIM Card By SpeedTalk is a great card to use if you want to travel to the USA for business, vacation purposes, or for any other reasons. As mentioned earlier, you can use a plan that better suits your needs.
You can port your current phone number to this card. However, you need to contact your current cell phone provider to do that. For this reason, I recommend you register the card online and get a new number based on the area you plan to stay in. Ultimately that’s your decision. This is just my opinion on this.
